Will the Queen's Funeral Send the UK into Recession?
09/14/2022Last week, the world was shattered by the news of Elizabeth II’s demise.
The date of the funeral is set: September 19th, a day later than planned before.
As a result, the funeral will take place on Monday, and this day is going to be a day off for the whole nation.
The London exchange will show due respect to the deceased Queen and will not process trading operations on that day.
We believe that all that may lead to unpredictable moves of Pound-related assets.
And overall, this unexpected day off may have a very negative impact on the country’s economy.
So the already recessing UK economy may lose GDP points due to this day off as well.
So, the already lower purchasing power of the British may fall even more because of the closed shops and supermarkets too.
